On the International Girls in ICT day, STEMi Makers of Africa in
collaboration with MPlace Girls introduced 40 girls to the world of physical computing and how it can encourage girls to use their imaginations to solve problems and develop new ideas.
This was to promote the participation of girls and young women in the field of Information and Communications Technology (ICT). This year’s theme was “Digital Skills for Life: Innovation in Drone Technologies and Robotics”.
The event was held for the girls of St.Anthony of Padua, and it was aimed at encouraging them to explore the exciting opportunities in these areas and to develop their digital skills.
Students were supported as they worked through physical computing projects, whilst also developing their own knowledge and skills.
This event provided an opportunity for the girls to learn about the latest innovations in drone technologies and robotics and to explore how these technologies can be used to solve real-world problems.
